Anarkali ka Mahal

£215.00

I find Indian architecture very inspiring, and I have created an imaginary palace (Mahal) that I think could have been the home of 'Anarkali'. She was a legendary woman who was loved by the Mughal prince Salim, and her name means 'blossom of pomegranate'. This story was made into a movie called 'Mughal-e-Azam'.

This piece is made with terracotta clay, decorated with underglazes and mixed media and fired to higher earthenware temprature.
